We’re delighted to welcome Mark Harris to FDS Maintenance as our new Business Development Manager.
Mark joins the team with a combination of real-world fire service experience, education, and commercial expertise; bringing a people-first approach to fire safety and compliance.
Before moving into business development, Mark served as a Firefighter with Essex Fire and Rescue. That frontline experience now underpins his work with clients, helping them understand not just what compliance looks like, but why it matters.
Prior to this, Mark spent 13 years as a PE Teacher, developing strong communication skills and a natural ability to educate, motivate, and build trust. It’s a background that perfectly supports his philosophy: prevention is better than cure.
At FDS Maintenance, Mark’s focus is simple – help clients stay safe, compliant, and confident in their fire alarm and smoke ventilation systems.
Outside of work, Mark races competitively for Sigma Sports Cannondale, travelling across the UK throughout the season and chasing those all-important one per cent gains. When he’s not on the bike, he’s at home being ruled by his two miniature sausage dogs.
Mark is already working closely with building managers, facilities teams, and property owners – and he’d be happy to speak with you.
